Generous room layouts, high ceilings and opulent stucco work make Gründerzeit houses particularly sought-after today. In order to preserve this special building substance, a core renovation is therefore often carried out.

The Gründerzeit house in Düsseldorf-Pempelfort is a residential and office building. Three of the five residential units were extensively renovated and extended. The facades on the street side and the old stucco also required a complex renovation and restoration.

The base zone of the outer façade and the staircase and corridor area no longer had any stucco work due to a number of structural changes in the sixties.

In order to enhance the value of the existing building, some changes were also made to its use and layout. On the third and fourth floors, a large, contemporary maisonette apartment was created by merging two apartments.
