the sunny side

The detached house in Dortmund is situated on a slope facing the sun. Towards the street, the house has a simple and closed design. The eye-catcher is the upper floor, which is clad with an aluminium façade. Only two of the total of four floors are visible from the street side, as the house unfolds its true size and openness towards the more private rear side. The result is a clear floor plan that satisfies both the client's desire for openness and their need for privacy.

The rear façade is almost completely glazed and provides a view over the unspoilt slope. The air space above the living area of the lower garden floor also creates transparency and openness and at the same time a connection to the dining area on the upper floor.
